Date: August 20, 2026

Time: 11:00am

Presenters: Derek Slovenec, Ph.D., P.E.

Wind loading is an important consideration for engineers in process facilities in a wide variety of industries.  Understanding the basics of how to obtain and apply appropriate wind loads is an essential skill for engineers.  This webinar will review appropriate procedures and methods for determining wind loads for pressure vessels, piping, tanks, and other types of equipment and structures common to process facilities.  Relevant code changes and recommended best practices will also be discussed.

What You Will Learn:

  • Basic theory of wind loading and pressure distributions
  • Minimum code requirements in ASCE 7 including recent changes
  • Wind loading considerations unique to fixed equipment and piping
