Have questions before you sign up? We’ve answered the most common questions about ETI’s training courses below — from CPD eligibility to what to bring to class. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, our Training team is always happy to help.
Course Info & Registration
ETI courses are available in four formats to fit your schedule and learning preferences:
- Public hybrid courses: attend in person at our Cleveland, OH office or join virtually via Microsoft Teams. Same course, same instructor, same certificate.
- Private courses: any ETI course delivered exclusively to your team, virtually or on-site, on a schedule that suits you.
- On-demand courses: self-paced, 1 to 2-hour courses you can access anytime through the ETI platform.
- Archived webinars: Equity-led, 1-hour sessions available on demand through the ETI platform.
Yes. Every ETI course can be customized and delivered privately to your team, either virtually or on-site at your facility. Private courses are a great option for owner-operators looking to train multiple team members at once, tailor content to their specific operations, or avoid the uncertainty of public scheduling. Note that a minimum number of attendees is required for all private courses.
Two instructors will typically deliver each course, which is unique to ETI. Two instructors give more real-world experience, more energy and engagement throughout the day, and a smoother experience for attendees when questions arise. In cases where enrollment is lower, we’ll ensure our highest-rated lead instructor teaches the course.
Your registration fee includes an electronic PDF of all course materials, which you can annotate, highlight, and reference digitally during and after the course. For in-person courses, lunch and refreshments throughout the day are also included. Registration fees do not cover printed hard copies of course materials, copies of API or ASME codes and standards, or any computer, internet, or software costs.
We do everything we can to run every scheduled session. In the rare case that a course doesn’t reach minimum enrollment, we’ll notify registered attendees as early as possible. You’ll be offered a full refund or the option to transfer your registration to another session or format. We never want a cancellation to leave you without a path forward — if a public session isn’t running, our team can also discuss private delivery options.
We understand plans change. Here’s our cancellation refund schedule:
- More than 14 days before the course: 75% refund
- 6–13 days before the course: 50% refund
- Within 5 days of the course: 25% refund
- No-shows: no refund issued
If you have extenuating circumstances, reach out to our Training team directly — we’re always willing to discuss how we can accommodate.
CPD & Certification
Yes. All ETI training courses provide a certificate of completion with CPD hours, ranging from 6 to 32 hours depending on the course length. The specific CPD hours for each course are listed on its individual course page.
Yes. All ETI courses meet the requirements for API ICP CPD third-party training. Here’s what that means in practice:
- Equity is a recognized training provider whose subject matter experts develop and deliver every course
- All course topics are directly relevant to the refining, chemical, and petrochemical industries and ICP certification
- Each course has clear, documented learning objectives
- Contact hours are limited to 4–8 hours per day, depending on the course
- CPD hours earned reflect actual time spent on the subject material — no inflation
- Every course includes assessment mechanisms such as example problems, Kahoot!, or Jeopardy-style reviews
- A certificate of completion is issued to every attendee for their records
Not officially — none of our courses is designated as an API exam prep course. That said, the depth of knowledge you gain from ETI training provides an excellent foundation for further exam preparation. Many of our attendees find the courses invaluable as part of their broader study plan.
Yes. Each on-demand course offers 2 CPD hours upon completion. Archived webinars are each worth 1 CPD hour. Both formats provide a certificate you can use for your professional development records; this is a flexible way to keep your CPD on track without blocking off multiple days on your calendar.
Course Access
Both are available through the ETI learning platform at training.e2g.com. You can browse available topics, purchase access, and start learning immediately.
To get the most out of a virtual session, you’ll need:
- A computer with a reliable internet connection and the Microsoft Teams application installed
- A working microphone and speakers
- Dual monitors are strongly recommended: one to view the Teams session and one to follow along in your course materials
- A laptop or tablet to view your electronic course materials (you’re also welcome to print and bind them beforehand at your own expense)
- A calculator for working through example problems
- Any applicable reference standards in electronic format — though instructors will have access to all relevant standards if needed
Yes. You’re welcome to print the electronic course materials for your own use. Many attendees find it helpful to have a printed copy for note-taking alongside the digital version.
No. Equity holds all rights to its course content and materials. Recording, duplicating, or distributing any part of the course — in any format, within or outside your organization — is strictly prohibited.
