For many years, the refining industry has used corrosion control documents (CCDs) and integrity operating windows (IOWs) to manage fixed equipment damage mechanisms and establish optimum operating ranges for specific equipment. Other types of processing facilities are now implementing similar workflows to improve inspection effectiveness and turnaround planning, and, most importantly, minimize the risk of process leaks and unplanned shutdowns.
