Matthew Kaiser is a Staff Engineer with the Mechanical & Structural Engineering Team at Equity. His primary focus is to help clients make informed run-repair-replace decisions by analyzing the integrity of pressure equipment, performing ASME Code compliance calculations, and evaluating damage using Level 2 and Level 3 fitness-for-service procedures. Matthew also performs research on areas of interest including thinning near storage tank shell-to-bottom junctions and elastic instability of thin shells.
Matthew has a background in reliability and metrology. As a Reliability Engineer, he drove a salt mine reliability program by identifying and resolving systemic problems as well as collecting and analyzing equipment life data on over 700 fixed and mobile assets. As a Metrology Engineer, Matthew developed and performed calibration procedures for more than 10,000 instruments measuring pressure, temperature, electricity, gas flow, and gas composition using engineering and statistical analyses. He also contributed to expanding laboratory accreditation scope.
