Ravi is a Senior Researcher within the Equity Software. He is a part of a team of researchers and software engineers developing our cloud-native computational platform, Equity Engineering Cloud (eec). He has played a key role in developing level 3 FFS assessment tools in the eec for evaluating FFS assessment of local thin areas, dents, and tank settlement. His other research interests include dispersion and consequence analysis and reduced-order modeling through Physics Informed Neural Networks.
Before joining Equity, Ravi served as a research associate at Pennsylvania State University (2015-2020), focusing on simulating cerebrospinal fluid flow in the brain using novel methods combining fluid-structure interaction, poroelastic models, and the finite element method. He also developed image processing techniques to validate these models against data from live animals. Previously, at Caterpillar Inc. (2011-2015), he leveraged his expertise in finite element analysis to design and analyze the strength and fatigue life of heavy machinery components, including welded and bolted joints crucial for mining and forestry equipment.
