Valerie Magyari brings 30 years of progressive leadership experience to her role as CEO and President. Throughout her career, Valerie has established a collaborative and empowering leadership style which results in high-performing teams, efficient organizational operations, and measurable economic growth.

Valerie oversees the operational management of Equity and all its subsidiaries, working closely with the Board of Directors and Leadership team to execute the long-term corporate strategy that will position Equity for future growth and technical innovation.  She has extensive experience outlining mechanical integrity solutions across the refining and petrochemical industry.  She is involved in the delivery of technology-focused asset integrity services and software as well as maximizing existing business relationships across North America and internationally.  She is focused on growing the Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) through transparent fiduciary practices and decision-making that directly benefit all employee-owners.

Prior to her current role, Valerie served as the Executive Vice President where she led the Business Development, Consulting Engineering, CorrSolutions, and Equity Software divisions, and the Vice President of Business Development (2018 to 2024).  In these roles, Valerie applied strategic planning and multi-disciplinary collaboration to develop formal business and sales strategies and negotiate industry partnerships that created new revenue streams for consulting services and software products.  As Director and Principal Engineer of Risk-Based Inspection (RBI), she focused on structuring the team to leverage each person’s unique strengths.  Valerie established herself as a knowledgeable and trusted advisor by delivering API RP 580 & 581 Risk-Based Inspection training courses and participating in API standards development.

Earlier in her career, Valerie held a variety of technical consulting positions at The Equity Engineering Group, where she managed a small team of engineers and performed client projects that applied API 581/580 risk principles to prioritize inspection for in-service equipment.  Before joining The Equity Engineering Group, she served as Staff Engineer at Sear-Brown, focusing on equipment design and wastewater treatment projects.  She began her career as Process Engineer at Middough Associates, participating in process design for capital projects, performing pressure relieving system design, and ensuring OSHA and Process Safety Management documentation compliance.

As a strategic and goal-oriented leader, Valerie has the skills to deliver operational excellence, strategic growth, and organizational transformation. Throughout her career, she built teams into efficient, revenue-generating units. Her leadership style and wide-ranging accomplishments spanning operations, business development, and strategic planning directly contribute to Equity’s vision and objectives.
