Neal Wagner is a staff engineer with the Mechanical & Structural Engineering Team at Equity. As a member of this team, he utilizes fitness-for-service (FFS) Level 2 and 3 methodologies to perform evaluations of in-service and aging fixed equipment. Neal has experience performing finite element analysis (FEA), piping flexibility and stress analysis, API 579-1/ASME FFS-1 (API 579) assessments, and ASME code design calculations to solve real-world industry problems. Prior to Equity, Neal held various maintenance, reliability, and turnaround engineering roles for petroleum refineries. His duties included general maintenance support, technical evaluation of fixed equipment using API 579, and leading turnaround engineering efforts with an emphasis on technical problem-solving. He provided practical information and analysis to assist with run/repair/replace decisions during critical discovery stages of turnarounds and maintenance shutdowns.
