Dr. Gassama joined the Innovative Software & Research Team of Equity in 2014 as a Senior Researcher. As a member of this group, his primary focus is developing and investigating emerging technologies using advanced computational and probabilistic methods, finite element analysis (FEA), and Bayesian scientific computing.
Prior to joining Equity, Dr. Gassama was a graduate research assistant for the Department of Applied Mathematics at Case Western Reserve University. His research applies finite element method (FEM) combined with Bayesian inference and data mining methods to statistically characterize the material parameters of piezoelectric materials with specific properties. One application of this work has been the optimization of the design of piezoelectric devices that he conducted for NASA Glenn Research Center. Dr. Gassama also has experience in Monte Carlo sampling techniques and developed a novel sequential sampling technique as part of his Ph.D. work.
