Achieving Mechanical Integrity Excellence in Fluid Catalytic Cracking Units

April 16, 2026 @ 8:00 am 5:00 pm

Mechanical integrity (MI) in fluid catalytic cracking units (FCCUs) is challenged by complex process conditions, high temperatures, and a diverse range of damage mechanisms (DMs)—but these challenges can be managed with the right knowledge. This course equips participants with a working understanding of FCCU operation and the fixed equipment vulnerabilities that arise from common process variables. Through practical instruction grounded in real-world failures, material behavior, and inspection practices, attendees learn how to identify and assess damage, select appropriate materials, and apply proven non-destructive examination (NDE) techniques. The course highlights the importance of establishing and maintaining effective integrity operating windows (IOWs) to control damage rates, prevent unexpected failures, and improve run length. By integrating process insights with MI best practices, this training provides a clear, actionable framework to help organizations strengthen reliability and achieve predictable, long-term MI in FCCUs.
