Piping vibration limits are typically justified by experience and lack a well-documented technical basis. This article summarizes the work performed by E²G and fellow industry collaborators working as members of the API 579 Part 16 Task Group on the development of a new Fitness-for-Service method to evaluate vibrations in process piping.
