Risk-Based Inspection

June 20, 2023 June 22, 2023

This API-branded Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) training course gives attendees the basic understanding of RBI principles, recommendations, requirements, and the methodologies of API RP 580 and 581. With a heavy emphasis on API RP 581 technology, students learn how to apply RBI technology to processing equipment by determining the probability of failure, the consequence of failure, and risk.  The culmination of the course occurs when the attendees learn how to plan for the equipment’s next inspection. Additionally, the instructors facilitate discussions on developing an RBI program using industry best practices to avoid common pitfalls and mistakes when implementing and maintaining your RBI program. Typical risk reduction and cost-benefit analysis of RBI programs are also presented. Finally, the instructors present a detailed, comprehensive example problem to demonstrate the step-by-step risk calculations for a typical pressure vessel using the methodology of API RP 581.

Advanced Analysis of Piping Thickness Data and How to Use It

July 21, 2022 @ 11:00 am 12:00 pm

Year after year, piping thickness data accounts for a significant portion of a plant’s inspection budget and maintenance efforts. Facilities WANT to better understand what is happening in their piping circuits, however, they continue to use the same non-destructive engineering (NDE) technology with 30 year old scheduling methods.

During this webinar, you will learn about CorrSolutions’ patented methodology that combines expert opinion and thickness data to calculate a more informed corrosion rate than typically calculated using API 570. Branden Stucky will explain how the CorrSolutions’ methodology includes probabilistic modeling and provides CML optimization, circuitization quality, input on which CMLs provide the most value for an RBI inspection and many more.

Learn how to visualize corrosion behavior, streamline inspection planning, and optimize inspection and maintenance costs.

Risk-Based Inspection

October 31, 2022 @ 9:00 am November 4, 2022 @ 1:00 pm

This API-U approved Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) virtual training course provides attendees with a basic understanding of RBI principles and methodologies given in API RP 580 and 581. With a heavy emphasis on API RP 581 technology, students learn how to apply RBI technology to processing equipment by determining the probability of failure, the consequence of failure, and risk.  The culmination of the course occurs when attendees learn how to plan the equipment’s next inspection based on risk criteria. Additionally, the instructors facilitate discussions on developing an RBI program using industry best practices to avoid common pitfalls and mistakes when implementing and maintaining your RBI program. Typical risk reduction and the benefits of shifting from a time or conditioned-based inspection program to an RBI approach are also presented. Finally, the instructors present a detailed, comprehensive example problem to demonstrate the step-by-step risk calculations for a typical pressure vessel using the methodology of API RP 581.
