Josh specializes in fixed equipment and mechanical integrity with an emphasis on best practices for safe and reliable equipment operation. He has utilized his expertise by reviewing and recommending materials for capital projects, providing mechanical integrity assurance for equipment, supporting maintenance and turnaround activities through engineering evaluation and repair scope identification, participating in incident investigations, and implementing best practices for pipes, pressure vessels, tanks, materials of construction, and insulation. Throughout this work, he has focused on growing and maintaining working knowledge of materials necessary for refinery operations including welding practices, damage assessment, and fitness-for-service evaluations.
Josh currently serves as chairman of the API RP 573 Task Group 5th Edition – Inspection of Fired Boilers and Heaters. He previously served as chairman of AFPM Mechanical Integrity Subgroup (MISG) and API RP 578 3rd Edition – Material Verification for New and Existing Assets, vice-chairman of API RP 577 3rd Edition – Welding Inspection and Metallurgy, and a member of the Subcommittee on Corrosion & Materials and the Subcommittee on Heat Transfer Equipment.
