Overview:

Amit is an Engineer II with the Process, Automation, Controls, & Electrical (PACE) team at Equity Engineering, where he specializes in pressure relief system revalidation studies, PRD sizing, selection, mitigation, and installation calculations to ensure compliance with industry standards.  His recent work includes tube vibration analysis and tube rupture credibility assessments on heat exchangers.  Amit also supports risk-based inspection (RBI) projects, utilizing the POFOD model to calculate PSV inspection intervals, thereby optimizing maintenance schedules and enhancing reliability in refinery operations.  Additionally, he contributes to the development and reaffirmation of several Equity Engineering Practice documents and serves as the designated Responsible Engineer for client queries on Combustible Dusts.  He is trained in supporting HAZOP and LOPA studies.

Before joining Equity Engineering, Amit worked as a Process Engineer at Ingenero Technologies in Mumbai for over 2.5 years, focusing on PRD sizing, revalidation, and mitigation projects in the oil & gas and refining sectors.  His field experience includes working as a Commissioning Engineer for CN Water Systems in Mumbai, where he commissioned purified water treatment plants for major pharmaceutical companies across multiple sites in India.

Amit holds a keen interest in plant safety and related studies.  His Master’s curriculum included courses such as Chemical Process Safety, Advanced Separation Process, and Advanced Reactor Design.  For his Master’s project, he synthesized aluminophosphate-18 (AlPO-18) fibrous zeolite membranes and FER zeolite membranes using the relatively unexplored structure directing agent (SDA) choline chloride, exploring their potential applications in catalysis and separation processes.

Amit also holds training certifications in Explosion Vent Panel Sizing (NFPA 68), HTRI software (Xist, Xace, Xvib), PHA/LOPA, API 580/581 Risk-Based Inspection and API 520/521 Pressure Relieving Systems.
